Sherie Thomas have been creating new endings and opportunities with formerly incarcerated citizens in Louisiana.Over the past three years, major projects and acknowledgments that can be attributed to her includes: new rules to the Louisiana Fair Housing Act, prohibiting landlords from denying housing based on past criminal records effecting 60,000 citizens; advocating for new legislation creating a simple, free expungement process;
Monthly FREE expungement clinics across the state, drafting and advocating for a new medical provider for the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, the deadliest jail in the country, and much more. Sherie Thomas facilitates partnerships with community organizations and individuals supporting free legal services and resources for one-third of Louisiana citizens.
